Well, here we are in May already. How did that happen so quickly?

I am sat here writing this blog with the log burner lit, the past few days have been sooooo chilly. The dogs are snuggled up on the sofa with me so I am happy to be indoors with them.

If you have visited recently you will see that The Teddy Bear Hospital and Orphanage is now on the lower floor, we simply did not have room upstairs for all of the orphans plus the hospital too. We are thrilled with it and the customers love it, we have a constant waiting list of teddies needing surgery. We can now offer a restringing service to dolls and in the future we will offer doll repairs too.

Tickets are now available for our D-DAY Garden Party on Sunday 8th June at 12.30-3.30. We have a lovely afternoon planned for you all. Singer Molly Rose will serenade us and we can all sing along too. We will have a wartime quiz, plus pin the cigar on Churchill. The competition on the day will be to bring along a cake or recipe made using wartime methods and ingredients, we will judge the best entry with a prize of Afternoon Tea for two people. You MUST bring along the recipe used to enter.

There will be a prize also for the best 1940’s/wartime dressed person or couple.

Chef Ashley will prepare a buffet meal all based on wartime foods to enjoy,  so be open minded to trying different foods from the era when rations were still in force. Tickets are £25 pp with £5 pp deposit please 01473 748519

Thursday the 17th July we have our Spiritual Day. Louloubelle and Chris will be with us most of the day from 11.30am , giving Tarot card readings, Medium readings, Tasseography too. Booking is advised but not essential. More details to follow with prices etc.

Saturday 13th September will see SASS give her end of Summer Fashion Show in the garden or indoors if the weather lets us down on the day. There will be bargains of the fabulous Italian fashion that SASS is so well known for. The fashion show will commence at 1.30pm so don’t be late or you may miss out on some gorgeous clothing at Sale prices.

I am keen to find out if you may be interested in attending a monthly ‘Dying to Know’ meet up?

We all have differing thoughts on dying but it is something that we all end up facing one day. There seems to be a reluctance to talk about our own mortality but it does not need to be ‘feared’ and the chance to chat about our own worries, choices etc can bring comfort and allay many worries over our passing.

‘Dying to Know’ meetings are not morbid, we can have a giggle about things related to dying, ask others about decisions they may have made etc.

The meeting would be totally NON RELIGIOUS, as that is a totally personal thing but chatting to others over a cuppa etc brings togetherness on a subject that is often not discussed, before it is too late. We often overlook the need to let others know of our wishes regarding pets, sentimental items however small. There are so many things to talk about at the meeting, we hope you would find it interesting too.

If you may be interested please can you pop me a quick email to lesley@theshedsuffolk.co.uk and let me know your thoughts.

Mad Dogs Antiques has moved into the Potting Shed area, his eclectic mix of stock changes regularly and he has some great prices too. We have stunning parasols for the garden available and garden seating.

We managed to open the Wisteria Garden for alfresco dining for just a couple of days recently, the garden looks stunning but it needs to be warmer outside before the garden will be open again. The birds in the Aviary love it when customers are chatting outside, they sing their little hearts out, how lovely is that! We have had quite a few canary chicks and diamond dove babies so far, they are so beautiful.

Well please keep visiting, shop local with us when you can, it means we can keep being as great as we are already! Look after each other, be kind and enjoy the Summer when it arrives. We hope to see you soon!
